Our founders

Droitwich Wellbeing Hub was founded in September 2021 by Pip Cavilla and Lesley Woollam to bring early mental health support closer to home, for people who cannot wait, do not meet NHS thresholds, or cannot afford private therapy.

Both founders are highly-experienced counsellors and local practitioners. Pip has worked in families and pastoral support at Westlands First School for around 13 years, building deep connections with local children, parents and services. Lesley brings experience from NHS HR and training, and frontline support with young adults facing homelessness at St Basils (Kidderminster), as well as work alongside the Orchard Nurses supporting families in the community.

Why we're here

The reality in Droitwich

Droitwich is a town with real strengths, but also real pressure. We see people who are working hard and coping on the surface while carrying anxiety, low mood, family strain, isolation, debt, housing worries, health issues, and the knock-on effects of stress at home and school.

For many, support can feel out of reach: NHS thresholds are high, waiting times can be long, and private therapy is not always affordable. We also see how quickly problems can build when people feel they have to manage alone.

The Hub exists because this is not abstract. It is local, it is daily, and it needs a practical, early route to help.

Our mission

Everyone has the right to access support for their wellbeing and mental health within their local community. Barriers including money, race, disability, gender, and ethnicity should be removed to ensure a fair and accessible service to all members of the local community. Research shows that when mental health support is offered locally, people are more likely to engage and experience positive outcomes. That's why we're here – in Droitwich, for Droitwich.

Our Vision

A Droitwich where anyone struggling can find timely, local support, and where more people get help early, in their own community, before they reach crisis.
